This Nicaraguan poet, priest and master of words, inspired especially by the poetry of Ezra Pound, continues a new style called "Exteriorismo". His poetry is distinguished by the idea of revolution and its relationship with the new, rebellious religious arising after the Second Vatican Council, known as liberation theology. The poet proposes his own reading of biblical texts and updates them in Latin America context, searching even for Marxist hints in the Bible. It lists the most urgent problems indicated by Cardenal, indicated previously by other authors: Rafael Barrett, Thomas Merton and Augusto Roa Bastos and relating to Christianity and the institution of the Catholic Church. 600 17
