Ekvivalencia a diskrepancia pri viacslovných pomenovaniach v angličtine a slovenčine / Miroslava Gavurová. -- Resumé: Equivalence and difference of the multi-word naming units in English and Slovak. The paper analyses the corpus of the multi-word naming units that has been assembled in the process of preparation of Dictionary of Multi-word Naming Units (Slovak - English - French - German - Russian - Spanish). It focuses on the parallels as well as the differences between the Slovak multi-word naming units and their English equivalents mainly on the morphological and word-formation levels - the type of the noun phrase that has become the multi-word naming unit, the compound vs. multi-word naming unit and the existence of several equivalents in either of the languages. The paper stresses that special attention should be paid to the analogies as well as variations and concludes the analysis pointing out the importance of such a lexicographic work for learners of the languages and translators, among others.
