Syntax anglického jazyka a jej postavenie vo výučbe prekladu / Zuzana Kozáčiková. -- 3 tabulky. -- Resumé: English syntax and its position in teaching future translators. The present paper aims to present the importance of Syntax for future translators. Syntax as a linguistic discipline together with Morphology should be the core of linguistic and translation studies at universities, since it gives our students a detailed knowledge how grammatical elements are organized within the language and how these elements correlate in language work, e.g. in the process of translation. Firstly, the paper discusses two aspects of teaching syntax for future translators and shows a brief overview of activities aimed at the development of linguistic competence. Secondly, it presents the results of a small scale study.
