Teoretickým východiskem příspěvku jsou proměny evropského trhu práce, které jsou odrazem končící industriální éry dominující v Evropě od druhé poloviny 19. století. Mění se charakter a struktura hospodářské činnosti včetně obsahu a forem práce. Průvodním jevem probíhajících změn je nejistota zaměstnání a nezaměstnanost, která se od 90. let minulého století stává společně řešeným problémem v evropských zemích. Cílem příspěvku je vysledovat postavení českých žen na trhu práce, které čelí nezbytnosti sladit potřeby profesního růstu s potřebami své rodiny. The paper presents the basic trends in the labor market changes and their impact on women's employment opportunities and the reconciliation of professional and family life. The post-industrial era has brought about changes that affect economic activity and consequently the labor market. During the second half of the 20th century has changed the structure of economic activity and the nature and forms of work. Unemployment and uncertainty became a problem to be solved together the countries of the European Union since the late of 20th century. This paper aims to find out the position of women facing the need to reconcile the needs of working life with the needs of their families on the Czech labor market.
