The research consisted of a survey on the Galician traditional games in order to analyze the collected vocabulary. The aim of this study is to reveal a reach vocabulary of Galician language and to observe that although the process of standardization of language is completed, the people still use the dialectal vocabulary. Furthermore, there is a description of the process of normalization of the language, based on drawn maps. The analysis allowed to prove the purpose and show the power of language and its struggle for survival in a society dominated by the Spanish. El presente artículo es fruto de las investigaciones llevadas a cabo en España, en Galicia, a finales del año 2010 y al principio del año 2011. Los estudios consistían en realizar una encuesta sobre los juegos populares gallegos para luego, analizar el léxico recogido. El objetivo primordial era mostrar la riqueza léxica de la lengua gallega, y poner de relieve que aunque el proceso de estandarización está llevado a cabo, la gente sigue usando las voces dialectales. Fijándose en los mapas hechos a base de los resultados se describe el proceso de normativización de la lengua. El análisis permitió alcanzar las metas, mostrando al mismo tiempo la fuerza de la lengua y la lucha por seguir viva y no dejarse desaparecer.
