It also deals with the phenomenon of indirect translations (it distinguishes between the "second-hand translation" and the "authorial compilative translation") and the difficulties of metatexts (A. Popovič). The obtained data serves to answer the following research question: What was the reaction of the Spanish public to this Czech novel? The paper analyses the "adventure" of Švejk in the Spanish milieu and focuses on critical reviews of Spanish translations of this book and a short commentary of interviews with the translators and editors. Two translations into Spanish were used as a source for the research: the second-hand translation by A. Janés (1980) and the translation by M. Zgustová (2008). As a methodological instrument for the micro-textual contrastive analysis of selected passages was used the Popovič's (1975, 1983) typology of stylistic shifts and changes in the translation. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar la recepción de la novela Las aventuras del buen soldado Švejk de Jaroslav Hašek en los siglos XX y XXI. Además, estudia el fenómeno de las traducciones indirectas (distingue entre la "traducción de segunda mano" y la "autotraducción compilativa") y la problemática de los metatextos (A. Popovič). El material recogido sirve como punto de partida para responder a la siguiente pregunta de traducciones al castellano sirven como punto de partida para la investigación: ¿Cuál fue la reacción del público español a esta novela? El artículo analiza las "aventuras" de Švejk en la prensa española, destacando las reseñas y las entrevistas realizadas a las traductoras y los editores. Dos traducciones al castellano sirven comu puntu la partida para la investigación: la traducción de segunda mano de A. Janés (1980) y la traducción de M. Zgustová (2008). Hemos usado la tipología de cambios estilísticos de Popovič (1975, 1983) como instrumento para el análisis traductológico de ciertas partes de esta novela de Hašek. Conspect 81 - Lingvistika.
