Opierajúc sa aj o prácu Stitha Thompsona Motif-index of folk-literature: a classification of narrative elements in folktales, ballads, myths, fables, medieval romances, exempla, fabliaux, jest-books, and local legends, by v centre pozornosti mali byť predovšetkým také motívy spojené so smrťou (v spomínanej klasifikácii napríklad motívy K500, K510, K520 atď.), ktoré nateraz možno súhrnne oznáčiť ako metaforickú formuláciu "šachová partia so smrťou". The intended aim of the paper - focusing mainly on the recycling/reinterpretational/transpositional strategies of popular culture - is to reflect such plots/stories that in some form refer to basal/cardinal/essential/fundamental human existential experiences, or more precisely to reflect such story patterns and schemes in the frame of which the Death occurs not indispensably - however arguably - in a figural appearance. Based also on the work of Stith Thompson Motif-index of folk-literature: a classification of narrative dements in folktales, ballads, myths, fables, medieval romances, exempla, fabliaux, jest-books, and local legends in the centre of the observation should be mainly such motifs related to Death (in the mentioned classification for example motifs K500, K510, K520) that can be at the moment summarily labelled with the metaphorical formulation "Chess with Death".
