The text's manuscript transmission does not always reflect such imitation accurately and the copyists tend to omit or simplify several local traits: thus, many of the passages affected may shed light on the process of transcription and publication of the text, and prove useful for the reconstruction attempted in a forthcoming critical edition. 520 $a Seguendo l'esempio del parlato boccacciano, il novelliere di Franco Sacchetti (1332-1400) impiega vari esempi di mimesi dialettale nel parlato dei vari personaggi.
